Well its been a week since I tried the gasket sealer and she's not lost a drop of water. So, hopefully this will hold out until April comes around.

Nasty stuff but luck of the draw, sometimes in your situation of "needs must" you get another 50k let alone a couple of months ~ best of luck.

Yeah I normally hate the stuff, seen it used far to many times to hide a problems in vehicles for sale. However, sadly the old gal will be heading to the junkyard once I'm done with her and I wouldn't be clocking too many miles between now and then. Had surgery recently so won't be back to work until late March.

Still though will be sad to see her go; took me a while to get it the way I wanted and the look I wanted, and I've had a lot of fun and some cool adventures. But got to be realistic, it would be stupid to drop the near side of £1500 into a vehicle that's not worth £1000.
