Tailgate opening on its own

Tailgate opening on its own
Good day. This is my first post in this forum. I have a 2015 Town & Country Limited. Recently, my neighbor has called me twice to tell me that the rear door on my car was open. At first I thought it was because the key fob was in my pocket and maybe I hit the button. Then I realized that it takes two consecutive presses of the button to open the door. That same logic also negates the option of someone's garage door opener causing the door to open. I have been placing the key fob on a table in the foyer of my home every time that I enter the house, so it is not the key fob doing this. Also, the other doors remain locked when this happens. The button inside the rear door will not close the door. I have to push the close button on the key fob to close the door. Is anyone else having this problem?

I'm sorry you're having this experience. If I can help you get in to your Chrysler dealership for service, please let me know.

I have a 2016 T&C Touring that has about 76000 miles on it. Today after I got to work, parked and locked the van, I went out about an hour later and both the sliding doors and the tailgate were open and the vehicle was unlocked. I had read about the key fob issues and have removed the battery from my keyfob just in case it was that causing the issues. Obviously, it is not. I closed the doors and went out about 2 hours later and the drivers side sliding door was open and unlocked again. I closed it, opened the driver's door and pressed the LOCK button to manually lock it (remember I have removed the battery from my key fob). I heard a small beep about 15 seconds after the doors locked. Everything stayed closed however, and I just checked it again and the tailgate was open this time. I'm beginning to think that the van's computer is responding to OTHER remote signals an opening the doors. I've scheduled and appointment with the local Dodge dealer, but I've got a week to wait before I can get in. Does ANYONE have any ideas???
Any updates? What was the problem and what had to be repaired/ replaced? I have a 2013 and have the same weird issues. Also have a parasitic draw on the battery now that is killing the battery and causing it not to start.

Cali58kid , Grawolph and dannopcs .
I have , over the last 10 years had these problems and others . They all end up being broken wires or shorting out issues , because of the miles of wires on these it can be a nightmare . But sometimes is an easy fix . It is down to you to really research the forum for specific problems , i have spent hundreds of hours doing this .Don't expect a simple responce to fix your issue , if i can help i will but i am in England with a right-hand drive and that makes some issues difficult . Regards Malcolm .
