Default ticking sound

i own a 2001 t&c limited with a 3.8. It has a ticking sound in the motor. Only does it when the engine is under a load. Doesn't make the sound when coasting or sitting at a stop sign or traffic light. Sound doesn't go away either even after driving all day. Wouldn't think it's a valve or lifter, it would do it all the time. Could it be a problem with injectors?

Probably a lifter. Tick or Knock ? Single tick or multiple ticks? Does it have enough oil in it? How often do you change it?

It's definitely ticks and there are multiple ticks. Oil level is ok. just changed it 1k miles ago and it gets changed every 3k. I thought that to but wouldn't it make that sound all the time whether coasting or under load? I put in some Lucas oil treatment and that didn't work.

I had similar ticking sound on my '97 t&c. Turned out to be serpentine belt. Using the old "bar of soap trick" (hold soap bar on grooved side of belt for a second or two with engine running). If sound disappears, it's the belt. In my case new belt fixed the problem.
