Trunk light switch?

It'll be either a black wire or maybe the whole switch is connected to ground being bolted in to the sheetmetal. I've never dug in there myself. The wiring diagram shows a black wire.

It's copyrighted material. I don't think we're supposed to post copyrighted stuff up here. The parts you are concerned with merely show the bulb, the wires and the switch. It's about as simple and straightforward a circuit as you can imagine. "Hot" wire leads from the junction block to the bulb: orange/black. From the bulb to the switch: red/green. From the switch to ground: black.

That's it.

What about if I wanted to just run my trunk light off of a switch...??? How would I go about doing so???

The bulb already has power. Run a wire from the red/green line that comes off the bulb and connect it to your switch. Connect the other side of the switch to a good ground somewhere. Throw the switch to turn the light on and off. Done.

yes sir i did just that, and now my trunk light works again... thanks for all the helpful tips u gave me....
