Default 2006 Pacifica 3.5. Grinding noise after shutdown

Hear like a grinding noise when I turn my Pacifica off... Don't think it's the starter cause it starts fine. Noise only lasts 1 to 3 seconds. What could it be? Car has oil in it. Any help would be great..

Belt noise? Check belts first. Loos belt alternator may want to keep going when engine is shut off. Not sure about Pacifica but some cars turn on A/C and engine fans at key off. Could cause unusual noise, maybe ??
Check the bolts between the engine flex plate (flywheel) and torque converter. Have seen them cause noise at shut down.

Default Thanks

Thank you. Sounds like it is on top of the engine. Had a auto zone guy listen at shut down. Going to mechanics Wednesday and hopefully it isn't expensive or get worse.
