I just removed the dart from the oil pressure switch and it seemed to make the light go away. I'm going to order the part on the TSB to install where the dart was. I looked inside the switch didn't notice any oil. Also didnt notice oil around the sensor so the seal must be good. One thing Im worried about before I pulled the dart another symptom I was having was ocassionally the car would die at the stoplight or when I throw it in reverse. I hope the two issues are related I guess I'll see in the next few days when I put a few hundred miles on it.

OP sensor will NOT make the engine die....ever. If that vent wire doesn't solve your problem with the oil light, you may have to run a new main wire back to the source.

I noticed the oil pressure light flickering on at idle after engine at running temperature. Purchased a new oil pressure switch (sending unit) from Pep Boys and installed it. That was a few days ago and I have not seen the oil pressure light flicker since the replacement. The one I removed was clean (no visible sludge). It did appear to have a very slight leakage of oil through the sending unit at the electrical connection point. I also added 1/3 can of Sea Foam prior to the installation of the switch. The oil pressure light was still flickering on prior to replacing the sending unit. The car has 81,300 miles on it. I purchased it new (2002) and I have changed the oil and filter every 2,000 miles. I have read about the oil sludge problems in many 2.7 engines. I certainly hope I do not encounter that problem. I think I might do another Sea Foam treatment after my next oil change as preventative maintenance.

It's best to do the Seafoam thing before the oil change, not after.

I have already added the Sea Foam. I will be changing the oil in 700 miles. I thought I would give it another treatment again (after next oil change). I will again wait until about 800 miles before I will be changing the oil again. Does that sound reasonable?

Sea Foam | Tech Info - Gas Engines

When all else fails, read the instructions.

Yes, but I can't say it helped anything. Some people swear by it.

I second that - maybe helped, maybe not. Put in Sea Foam about 40 miles before oil change. Old oil did not look too dirty when replaced (had about 2700 miles on it). After oil change, idling seems to be the same as before but no oil light yet. May have to turn to other measures eventually, like sensor replacement, if pressure is indeed low on my 2.7L while idling...
