Default Thoughts - sport air filter

Found those kits on eBay, sport air filter with tube... Seems to be nice, but... What would be your thought - is it worth trying ? Adding some HPs is good but - the filter lets more dust into the engine as it has bigger holes that regular... Post some pics if you have it installed in Sebring Coupe LX, would be nice to see how it looks. Any recommendations - what to avoid and what to look for appreciated.

I never have seen any value to those things. You are correct in that they will not be as effective as the stock air filter. The filter element is smaller, so it must either be more restrictive or more porous. More porous means more dirt gets through.
Additionally, they are located to suck air in from the space right behind the radiator, probably the warmest place in the engine compartment other than next to the exhaust pipe. And they have the nerve to call them a "cold air intake". HAH!
On the plus side, they are nice and shiny.
