Chrysler 300c 2009 front end knock
Ok i have a front end knock, more usually at low speeds and also on uneven roads, however it only happens when the air temperature is above 25 deg C ish , so i thought rubber bushing getting soft, it sounds central but getting worse as i now also get some vibration, rumble through the pedals and steering wheel.
I have jacked the car and looked at all the ball joints and bushings without finding any play, so i replaced the sway bar bushings, it had no effect. I also had noticed it was obviously a problem to a previous owner as the sway bar links look very recently added.
The thing that concerns me is when i checked the callipers there seems a lot of play in the guide pins, here is a YouTube video , do you think it is excessive? why when slightly hotter?
When i got the car the front right tyre had worn excessively on the outer edge 0-4mm so i had new tyres and had tracking checked, they said it was out but still to few a miles to access if it is now ok.
If i put the car in drive and put on and off the brakes i do get a clunk.
My assumption is with the vibration it has to be wheels / brakes ? Possibly the caliper?
Thanks for your comments
