2008 Hemi Aspen Misfiring
Hello All,
First post as I just found this group and at at wits end with my Aspen. It all started last month as my wife was on here way to get it inspected and the MIL came on, of course! Code came up as Cylinder #7 Cylinder deactivation solenoid. I ordered 4 and replaced them all since I was in there. Thinking I was good, code came back and vehicle was clearly misfiring. Drove it for 80 miles and all seemed fine. But then it came back. Now I had a general misfire code and cylinder 7 misfiring. Took it all back apart checked compression on #7 pulled valve cover looking for a broken sping, but everything was good.. Replaced cam & crank position sensor, still misfiring and running rough. Swapped plugs, coil pack and injector 1 at a time to see if problem would follow, but stayed in cylinder 7. If I drove in tow mode, it drove fine with no issues. I then swapped #6 & #7 solenoids. This time it drove okay for a while but then it was # 6 misfiring. Figuring it had to be the solenoids since it followed to #6 cylinder, I ordered two more and replaced #6 & #7 again. After replacing, it would only drive okay in tow mode. Now #7 is misfiring and tow mode fixes nothing. Is it possible it is the PCM on this? I'm pretty good at this stuff, but this one has got me going crazy. On the plus side I can get the intake manifold out in an hour and five minutes!
