Thanks Joe B. I seldom use the remote. My Aspen will not remember the temp setting when I start the car whether the heater set to 'Automatic" or "Manual". It is clear that that I have a system problem.
I tried several different situations today and here is a summary:

On my Aspen, If I stop the engine and remove the key but do not lock the car then all settings are remembered as they were when I turned the car off. Temp, Radio, Mirrors, etc.

If I lock the car then the remote used to unlock is the memory positions reset upon unlock. Again, radio, temp, mirrors, etc.

Default RE: Heating System

I finally got my problem with the heating system solved. The temperature settings always returned to low whenever the car was started no matter what they sere set at when the car was turned off. Chrylser replaced the entire dash heating controls and now it works fine.
