Default Cruise control lighting

Hi all. I have an 06 Pacifica Touring AWD that I bought last June. At night, the cruise control buttons on the steering wheel do not light up. Is this normal or do I need to look for a blown fuse?

I just bought an '06 and wondered whether the cruise buttons should illuminate. I've looked through this and another forum and I get the idea they don't. I think that is why the raised sections on each function are there. The left cruise button was scratched pretty badly from fingernails I'm guessing. Both sides worked it was just an appearance thing. I bought a set from a salvage yard that looked almost new. Same as the set I replaced as far as function but they don't light up either.
