Default Tailgate does not lift automatically on 2006 Pacifica

Hello. My name is Jeremy and I'm a new member here. Bought a 2006 Pacifica touring about a week and a half ago. Tailgate does not respond to key fob button or button inside vehicle. But when i press button underneath on the tailgate it makes clicking noise. It does release when I press but I have to manually lift up tailgate But just found out today that even though I lock the doors, the tailgate can still open. Trying to get this fixed ASAP since the tailgate remains unlocked.

Click here - Some have had the same issue

It could be a number of things as well
  • Bad door module
  • Blown fuse for the Power Liftgate
  • Power Liftgate Actuator
  • Liftgate Gas Shocks replacement
  • New Key Fob Battery

thanks for responding to my post. It’s not the key fob battery’s because it still locks and unlocks the doors. I didn’t think it would be the fuse because there is still power to make that clicking sound and move the lock. As well as by pressing button under the handle to lift gate on outside, it still releases the gate to be lifted up manually. Still trying to figure out HOW to get into where the motor on the gate is.
