Default 2005 PT cruiser cranks no start

The car died suddenly but still had power while driving. By that I mean everthing such as radio and lights worked. No sputtering or pinging or error lights at the time. The only code showing was the p0522. Replaced the oil sensor switch and a new battery but the car only cranks does not start. Only code still popping up is the p0522. I can see the gears turning at the timing belt. All fuses test okay (tested by moving all fuses and relays to things could check such as horn and lights as had no tester). Had a oil change 2 and half months before this happened as had just bought the car. What could ve causing this? I can hear the fuel pump humming when turning the key and can smell gas in the engine after attempting to start. Thanks

NOT to be sarcastic...but can you confirm you see the timing belt turning the camshaft gears and not the crank pulley turning the belts for alternator/ P/S / A/C pulleys?

Thanks, many folks will post up similar confusing the two, making it all the harder to come up with good suggestions. Since you have good cranking from the starter, only things I can offer are to test the crank and cam sensors and coil pack. but you'll need a digital volt/ohm meter to do that. I don't have the specs "handy" for your 2.4 motor, as that is one Dodge/Chrysler that I've not had.

I will try that. Thank you for the ideas. I'm no mechanic but trying to see if I can get it running without sinking to much money in
