My temp gauge dont know what its doing , just goes up and down when going round corners or just traveling along ?? doing my head in with needle shooting up and warning sound, heaters are not very good and there is no overheating issues ???? Thinking maybe need a new stat

Hi, my head keeps saying you've not got enough coolant in the engine.from what you say about the gauge going up and down when going round corners. Reminisent of low fuel in tank. Purge coolant hose at radiator by sqeezing it and see if level in header tank goes down.
I know this sounds silly but it could happen.
