- all this model have a 'known good starts' record
- I can't REM the actual figure without looking it up
- but lets say (1) you had a problem, but (2) have not had that specific problem for nine good starts
- then on the tenth good start the engine light warning disappears because it [the problem in reality] no longer exists
- per the ""stored but not active"" as Richie says
