Default Throttle Cables

I trying to get the idle to stay at 750. I noticed that the cables have slack at the throttle body. Is this normal.

idle is control by the iac motor and what the computer whats so if you want more for what ever reason you will want to get a software hacking tool to change the values

Thx Chrysler Tech, that hacking is a little above my pay grade. I was hoping more like cleaning or replacing a part.

Slack in the cables is normal. IF you have high idle RPM, then probably have a small vacuum leak at a hose to the intake manifold. OR a dirty IAC(cleaning may help if not too bad.
LOW rpm would indicate a large vacuum leak(tries to stall out). OR a jammed IAC.
What year and motor size are you working with anyway?

Thx Rebel59 My van is a 2003 LX with the 3.3l with 220,000 miles. When I picked it up from a neighbor after it wouldn't turn over. The car has had very little maintenance through out it's life. I love to drive it around town it's so comfortable. I was thinking about making a smoke machine like I saw on utube. Because I have a evap. code so I changed the gas cap no help. Thx

Probably a minor vacuum leak(small hose on motor) and near the throttle body.OR dirty IAC, you didn't give specifics of idle problem or conditions it seems off.
Most EVAP code problems will not affect idle unless it's the purge valve mounted on the pass side radiator core support. MOST COMMON EVAP codes are found and fixed at hoses to the EVAP canister and Leak detection valve mounted on the front "K" member underneath on drivers side.
