transmission problem
hello all, I have a 2004 town and country, started having a problem with transmission, sometimes it won't go into gear, if you turn it off, and turn it back on, it will work, it has to be something electrical for it to work like that, I don't think it would do that if it was mechanical, any ideas? any help would be appreciated, thank you

first thing to do is change the fluid and filter, it's cheap(ish) and then gives you a known baseline and I highly suspect it will cure your problem
2nd, reverse and neutral are selected mechanically via the shifter, 1st,3rd and 4th are electronically selected by the solenoid pack.

I'm having the same problem yesterday with my 2013 T&C. Al the sudden I started hearing a whining noise coming from the engine. Put the van in neutral and pressed the Gas pedal the noise got louder. Then the van would not shift out out first gear. Stopped at the next light and got stuck there, the van would not go into gear. Turned off the van restarted and then the van went into gear but would not go past 25mph. Could this be a bad Transmission solenoid ?
