Fill it up as best you can, Drive it enough to warm it up and let it cool down a few times. Re-fill when it's cool. Watch it for a few days more and re-fill as necessary.
Normal driving with warm-up and cool-down cycles will bleed the system of any trapped air.
The factory and shop manual methods are predicated on the notion that it must be filled and bled in one operation because they either can't or surely don't want to bring the car back in for re-fills. A do-it-yourselfer doesn't have that concern.
