2007 Pacifica 4.0 stalls when put in gear when cold
2007 Pacifica 4.0 will stall when its cold and put into drive or reverse. If let warm up for 30 + minutes, it will run. Sits over night and will do it again. Scoured internet with no fixes. Replaced egr, seemed to fix for a few days but back to stalling. New alternator. New battery. Only thoughts left is MAF, or something with transmission. Any help or ideas much appreciated, I'm stumped.
Only one cel which is small evap leak. Narrowed down to cracked fitting in fuel pump, had for a while. I've cleaned the throttle body 3 times, no change each time. Maybe MAF? Not sure a bad MAF would cause this though. The only other lead I could find was a torque converter solenoid gone bad but was a different but similar issue.
I'm not up on the 4.0...BUT I've never known a mopar to use a MAF sensor, a MAP sensor YES! but that should throw a code. What is the idle RPM COLD? should be around 1,000 rpm and in gear drop to about 750. Almost sounds to me like a major vacuum leak when the motor "rocks" being put into gear(like a bad motor mount) and a breaking major vacuum hose.
1000 idle, a quick hard shudder then stall. Idles just fine, revs just fine before shifting. I agree on the code, but the one it has is the small evap leak. Like I said I know there's one by the fuel pump but very small. Never affected running and staying cold the year prior. I know some people have mentioned no code and a bad MAF... or MAP.
