just a bump on this thread i now have the sensor and am going to replace over the bank holiday .. once i replace will the light have to be turned off by a machine or will the fact the battery has been disconnected be enough

Good luck with this weather! Hailstones up here in the North East.

Anyway, the airbag light is self resetting, after a start cycle (from memory after sorting it, next start up after a minute mine went out), so annoyingly it doesn't go out immediately so finding a dodgy wire might be tricky as you'll only know for sure at next drive.
